Gordon Hawkins Subject of Classical Singer Cover Story

Internationally renowned baritone and alumnus Gordon Hawkins (BM '82) graces the cover of the March 2006 issue of Classical Singer Magazine (Vol. 19, No.3). Inside, Hawkins is the subject of the feature article "Home Runs in the Opera House" which recounts Hawkins's distinguished career and his early days as a scholarship baseball player at UM.

Hawkins was also the subject of an October '05 Washington Post article ("The Baritone's Deeper Resonance") which coincided with his starring role in the Washington National Opera production of Porgy and Bess.

Gordon Hawkins was a student of faculty artist Linda Mabbs.
