DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY GRADUATES

Congratulations to our Spring 2020 Doctor of Philosophy Graduates:

Jennifer M Kobuskie
Ph.D. in Musicology

Written by Olga Haldey:

Jennifer's excellent dissertation sheds new light on a familiar but under-appreciated figure: 20th-century American composer Arthur Berger. She re-introduces Berger as a prominent newspaper critic, writer, editor, theorist, and aesthetician of modern music, and as both a witness and a vital contributor to the American musical landscape.

Simon Polson
Ph.D. in Musicology

Written by Barbara Haggh-Huglo:

Simon, from Australia, met me online during the Ebola crisis and defended his path-breaking dissertation, 'Musicians and Commoners in Late-Medieval London,’ with a zooming committee on three continents. Unforgettable in courses, Chamber Singers, as TA, and cataloging regional manuscripts, Simon will now research, write, publish, and teach.
