In her three-recital dissertation project, Emma Selmon uses the lens of the clarinet repertoire to trace the concept of light music through the first half of the 20th century. Her third recital explores light music circa 1955, and features light selections from the classic repertoire alongside popular works of the day. Repertoire includes selections from Louis Cahuzac, Cole Porter, Edward MacDowell, Charles Gounod, Gerald Finzi, George Gershwin, Arthur Benjamin and Aaron Copland.
