About the Event
Join UMD harp faculty and students for a day of music, community and celebration. Featuring a variety of guest artists and clinicians, this inaugural Harp Day provides harp students with the resources to thrive as a musician and learn what it's like to study harp at the University of Maryland.
Event Schedule
11 am–12pm: Registration, Harp drop-off, harp tuning
12–12:30pm: Opening performance by the American Youth Philharmonic Orchestras Harp Ensemble & the Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras Harp Ensemble
12:45–2:15pm: UMD Harp Day Harp Ensemble rehearsal. Play alongside members of the National, Baltimore and Annapolis Symphony Orchestras
2:30–3:30pm: Yoga & Mindfulness for Musicians led by Dr. Abigail Kent
3:45–4:30pm: Demystifying College Auditions: a panel discussion with current UMD students, faculty and admissions staff
5–5:30pm: UMD Harp Day Harp Ensemble Performance
