Spring 2022 Campuswide Commencement Ceremony

The University of Maryland will honor Spring 2022 and Winter 2021 graduates at its campuswide Commencement on Friday, May 20, 2022. The ceremony will be held at 12 p.m. at Maryland Stadium.

Below are some helpful tips to ensure a smooth and successful graduation day!

• Gates will open one hour prior to the start of each ceremony. 
• The university will follow all current COVID-19 health and safety guidelines. 
• Students are required to wear regalia in order to participate in the commencement ceremony.
• To ensure everyone’s safety, and in accordance with University COVID-19 protocols, masks will be required.

Tickets are required for all graduates and their guests. Tickets will be limited to 1 student and 6 guests. Tickets will be general admission seating. 

The ceremony will also be available via livestream on commencement.umd.edu as well as on the university’s YouTube channel.

Students will have the opportunity for their photos to be featured during the campuswide commencement ceremony by submitting photos through this form or on social media using #UMDgrad by May 5.

All campus events are contingent on evolving COVID-19 conditions and guidelines from the Prince George's County health department. Hosting successful in-person commencement ceremonies will depend on everyone doing their part, and remaining diligent in following our guidelines.
