Congratulations to Maggie Johns, our 2021 Presser Undergraduate Scholar Award winner! Johns is a junior B.M. piano student with a 4.0 GPA. She was recommended for the award by her instructor Larissa Dedova, who wrote:

"Maggie is just amazing. She is a rare, exquisite talent, incredibly profound, creative musician, who impresses me every time I hear her play. Her work ethic is of the highest standard, her interests in music are broad, she loves collaborating and always does it with joy and quality.

Maggie is loved by everyone for her genuine friendliness and willingness to help. She is bright, inquisitive and beautifully mannered. She is full of ideas and enjoys organizing performances and events that inspire her peers to participate.

In short, to me Maggie is just an exemplary student who has proved to be deserving the nomination for this prestigious award. I cannot recommend her higher."
