UMD and ARHU's Virtual Commencement Ceremonies
The university will host a campus-wide virtual commencement ceremony at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 22. Streamed live across multiple platforms, the ceremony will include remarks from Citrupa (Kat) Gopal '20, a biological sciences major, and an official commencement address from Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer '63. Degrees will be officially conferred during this ceremony. You are encouraged to participate and engage live on social media.
Immediately following the campus-wide virtual commencement ceremony, The College of Arts and Humanities will host a separate ceremony for ARHU graduates.
The virtual commencement ceremonies will include performances by School of Music graduates.

2020 Presser Undergraduate Scholar Award
Congratulations to Kenny Wang, our 2020 Presser Undergraduate Scholar Award winner! This $4,000 award recognizes Wang's academic excellence, superior musicianship, exemplary character and leadership potential. Wang is a junior B.M./B.M.E. dual degree clarinet student with a minor in arts leadership. In his nomination, Robert DiLutis wrote, Kenny Wang's “incredibly high level of musicianship, leadership in the clarinet studio and service to the university and community is unsurpassed… [his] work ethic can be seen in every aspect of his life.”
